Conference Logistics

The Final Countdown is on! PDF is only in two short days and we are so excited to have you come. This post has answers to many of your questions so read closely.

Hashtag and Question Tool
Join the convo on Twitter with #PDF18 and we will be using a tool called Sli.do to ask speakers questions during Q&A after each speaker gives their talk.  No need to download Sli.do just go to http://www.sli.do and enter “PDF18” as the event code on the day of the event.

Check-in and Registration
On Thursday, June 7, doors open at New York Law School at 8 AM for check-in. The Law School’s address is 185 W Broadway, NY NY 10013. It is on the corner of W Broadway and Leonard.  The Law School is in Tribeca, most accessible by the Franklin Street 1 train, or the Canal Stop on the F, N , Q, R, and W trains.

Please be advised that you may be asked to prove your identity by showing an ID.  If you are using the ticket of a colleague who can no longer come, please have an email on hand showing that this attendee has authorized the change in ticket.

Bag Check
You can check coats and bags on the third floor.

Networking Breakfast
There will be a light breakfast (pastries and coffee) available from 8-9am Thursday and 8:30-9am Friday.

Main Hall
Doors to the main stage on the second floor open both days at 8:45 AM. Please be advised that seating is first-come, first served, and once the main hall is full, we will be directing attendees to a simulcast room for overflow. To ensure the best seat, come early!

We do not require you to choose a workshop in advance. However, we do encourage you to attend workshops on time, and stay for the whole time, as they have been curated for 90 minutes. Switching workshops could disrupt the flow of the experience. You can find workshop descriptions on our website.

Code of Conduct
Everyone who attends PDF is expected to abide by our Code of Conduct. This Code has recently been updated so we hope that you take some time to read it. It will be in your programs, posted around the conference, and we will all take some time to affirm it together at the start of the forum.

Lunch is from 1:00-2:30pm on the 5th floor. We do have vegetarian options available. Coffee and light snacks will also be provided during mid-morning and afternoon breaks.

Cocktail Party
The all-attendee cocktail party is Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm on the 5th floor. Wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Dinner is on you.

Thursday After-Party
Check your email for an attendee email we sent yesterday for an invite from Meetup for a post-PDF BBQ; RSVP is required because space is limited.

Online Portal
If you haven’t already, make sure you check out our online community platform at https://community.pdf-18.com/. Already, you’ll find descriptions of the workshops, information, conversations, and more. (Use it to network with your fellow attendees!) If you haven’t received or can’t find your invitation, contact our community manager Darshana Narayanan ([email protected]com) for an invite.

Charging stations
Make sure your devices are charged before you come. There will be several charging stations in the hallways and all the workshop rooms have outlets at your seats, but there is no charging available in the main hall during morning sessions.

There is no formal dress code; dress comfortably–the weather is supposed to be in the mid 70s and partly sunny.

Questions? Feel free to ping us at [email protected] or go to the Help Desk at the 3rd floor during the event.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
